"this is the long slow burn of an impending future.
a grandparent whose mind escapes them quicker than their body, forgetting you and everyone around them. mourning a parent who is still alive, but will never be capable emotionally or psychologically of being the support you needed. a decade’s long illness that painstakingly, silently chips away.
these are the ones that have no clear ending in sight. a gray zone of painful limbo."
