I've always been keenly interested in the history of painting, from the medium's distant past to the present day. Amongst my aspirations are to create artworks that are both inimitable and uniquely Canadian. I consider my work as a hybrid of realism and pop-art, but not in a strict sense of either term. For the most part I tend to employ sub-narrative subject matter, so whatever I depict is intended as a point of departure (in order to explore the entire surface) rather than being the sole focus of the painting.
