Indelible Mark | Opening Artist Reception July 23rd, 6-8pm
RSVP COMING SOONArt does not just occupy space; it alters it. Every voice shared is a line drawn that can never be un-drawn.
The intention of Indelible Mark is to illuminate queer identity not as a modern or transient phenomenon, but as a fixed truth: a fundamental, unyielding constant throughout history. In this exhibition, every act of creation is an act of permanence, reclaiming "mark-making" from the ephemeral and repositioning it as an eternal declaration.
This collection brings together artists whose work functions as a physical and metaphorical record of existence. Here, resilience is viewed as more than a survival tactic; it is a tangible, creative output. Through the marking of the canvas and the saturation of the medium, these works serve as visual metaphors for a community that has weathered systemic storms to emerge with its colors and spirit intact. Ultimately, resilience is about more than just "getting through"—it is about the defiant, unerasable beauty of what is left behind.
While perspective is inherently individual, these gathered works create a harmony of many voices speaking at once. By bringing these diverse perspectives to light, we transform private moments into an indelible record. We are not just displaying art; we are honoring the depth and diversity of the journey.
Through the lenses of Shared Voices, Resilience, and Perspective, these artists utilize the materiality of their craft to remind us that our histories are not written in pencil. The mark is a witness to the struggle, a map of the journey, and a monument to the beauty. We invite you to move past the surface and recognize that these perspectives are not merely additions to our world—they are foundational to it.

Glint: Captured Memory | ON NOW - June 14th
VIEW THE COLLECTIONJoin us for a duet with Ashdale’s mixed media/ photography based artist’s Lori Bagneres and Susanne Aaltonen.
The natural world is composed of fleeting thresholds—moments where light hits a moving leaf or a ripple disturbs a shadowed pool, sparking a sudden, luminous reflection. This is the "glint": a sharp trace of light or memory that vibrates briefly before settling into the subconscious. In this duo exhibition, Lori Bagnérès and Susanne Aaltonen explore these ephemeral vibrations, transforming the transient magic of the Pacific Northwest into a permanent, layered archive of wonder.
The exhibition functions as a rhythmic dialogue between the expansive and the intimate. Lori Bagnérès leads the viewer into the atmosphere of the forest, capturing the macro-essence of the wild. Her work evokes the "call" of the woods—the weight of the air, the collective rustle of the canopy, and the broad, glistening light that filters through the trees. These pieces serve as a doorway, inviting us to step back into our own histories while simultaneously building new memories within the landscape’s embrace.
As Lori expands the horizon, Susanne Aaltonen draws the eye inward, quieting the viewer’s focus to reveal the magic hidden in the smallest details. Her work is an exploration of the micro-poetry often overlooked: the glowing luminescence of moss, the intricate geometry of a single ripple, and the quiet internal resonance of a held moment. Through her lens, the minute becomes monumental, anchoring the "essence" of the forest in the delicate traces of the subconscious.
Glint: Captured Memory is an invitation to pause within these overlooked wonders—to witness the transformation of a passing sensory spark into a lasting, visual anchor for the soul.
