"this is the grief we choose to undergo.
the pain of initiating the loss. you leave someone that you love deeply, because you know they’re no longer the one. you leave a city and a community that you know is home, into the unknown to find a new job and a new life. knowing the time has come to say goodbye to a beloved pet. choosing to pursue love even though it might end in devastating heartbreak.
this is the kind of grief that doesn’t happen to us. you made the decision, but you still have to undergo the suffering."
