  • Intertidal is a new body of work by Victoria artist Dylan Cram that explores a hybridized language of new forms stranded in the liminal space between the novel and the familiar. The work deliberately floats between still life, landscape and abstracted representation, with forms that are at once technological, natural and formal.

In Intertidal, clouds are underwater, emotions float and glow, and silicon, obsidian and vapor all take shape in human experience. These luminous oil paintings are meant to conjure a waking dream, to poeticize the non-digital world, to recall primordial forms long forgotten and beckon forth new ones. They are intertidal, between two markers, and call out for new interpretation.
